As a Controls Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, installing and troubleshooting all plant instrumentation and other control systems. You will apply knowledge and understanding of programming and troubleshooting plant controls processes and the equipment used to control those processes.  You will make recommendations to improve the control of the processes or the processes themselves.  Supports the maintenance of plant equipment to ensure a minimum of downtime

What You Will Do

  •  Technical:
    • Generate programming changes for PLCs
    • Create simple programs for programmable logic controllers; installs and troubleshoots programmable logic controllers. 
    • Navigate the programs to troubleshoot process upsets
  • Mechanical:
    • Lead machinery trouble-shooting; documents repairs made
    • Replace or repairs defective parts
    • Provide preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for barrel processing equipment, bottling line equipment, and filtration equipment
    • Provide preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for de-stemmers, presses, and crush pits
    • Disassemble malfunctioning equipment; examines and tests mechanisms on large and small pieces of machinery

What You Need

  • High school diploma or GED plus 5 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment
  • Required to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work 24-hour on call shifts
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights

What Will Set You Apart

  • 2 year technical degree in electrical technology plus 3 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of motion control and servo drive technology (software and hardware)
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers, MicroLogix, SLC500, PLC5, ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and FlexLogix
