Markets and sells experiences for all consumer group events (corporate outings, business meetings, etc.) on all North Coast properties and manages all aspects of  events that that take place on winery grounds. This critical role markets and sells experiences for all consumer group events (corporate outings, business meetings, etc.) on all North Coast properties and manages all aspects of events that that take place on winery grounds. Supports the operation of the Tasting Room and Wine Club teams as needed.      

What You Will Do:

  • Oversees the booking of event space to achieve revenue and number of events goals.
  • Develops business-development strategies to increase corporate meeting/corporate outing events at the winery.
  • Cultivates partnerships to sell event space and events on property; meets with potential clients or business partners.
  • Meets with potential clients/guest to present all benefits the winery has to offer for events and corporate meetings.
  • Works with the Wine Club team to plan and execute club events; participates in idea generation for membership drives.
  • Manages all aspects surrounding the organizing, planning, coordinating entertainment, arranging the security, and hosting re-occurring seasonal events at the winery.
  • Attends all events presented by 3rd parties to promote the North Coast brands and markets our facilities for events.
  • Identifies preferred caterers for winery events; consistently evaluates the performance of the caterers making changes to the business relationship if necessary.
  • Promotes the sale of wines to event clients; uses wine knowledge to provide recommendations to clients regarding wine pairings.
  • Manages assigned advertising budget to market the winery grounds to regional business and individuals.
  • Oversees group tours of the winery grounds coordinates availability of Winemakers, guest speakers and event staff to ensure the appropriate level of hospitality for visitors.
  • Develops and drives programs that will enhance the retention rates of existing event clients.
  • Partners with the corporate trade hospitality team to locally coordinate functions for trade-related events.
  • Maintains presence at events, providing on premises support to guest.
  • Keeps corporate event hospitality up to date on upcoming event projects at the winery.
  • Provides floor support to the tasting room when necessary; partners with wine club personnel to organize special events for wine club members.
  • Conducts guest surveys to identify areas of success/areas of opportunity; forwards information to leadership team.
  • Manages event-related digital interfaces; posts all events on regional electronic boards, and maintains all informational websites. 

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of event marketing and sales management, event planning, B2B account executive, or hospitality management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR 9 years of event marketing and sales management, event planning, B2B account executive public relations representative or hospitality management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to lift and move product and equipment weighing up to 45 lbs.
  • Required to work flexible schedules to include evenings and weekends.
  • Required to travel to various locations within the region to promote the winery.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background check. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of event marketing and sales management, event planning, B2B account executive or hospitality management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word and MS Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Experience selling goods or services to client; experience retaining existing customers.
  • Skilled in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume. 
  • Skilled in applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. 
  • Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong personal selling, time management and public speaking skills.
