Are you looking for a Seasonal Viticulturist position?  E & J Gallo is currently seeking a Seasonal Viticulturist Technician, this exciting position will participate in the monitoring of and in the accurate collection of vineyard performance data as well as communication of all information involved in harvest logistics.

What You Will Do

  • Vineyard orientation of those vineyards assigned.
  • Driving to vineyard monitoring and collecting data such as pest checks, vine health, canopy conditions, and soil conditions.
  • Travels to grower vineyards for maturity sampling and analysis (brix, pH, TA)
  • Assist with harvest logistics including delivery of bins prior to picks and hauling fruit to Winery Facilities.
  • Communicate all information regarding harvest logistics.
  • Tracking all bins, full and empty, involved in picks.
  • Staffing harvest picks to ensure contracted fruit is harvested and harvested tonnage are as expected.
  • Delivering paperwork protocols to each pick. In turn following the fruit to designated winery facility to ensure a smooth delivery and check-in.
  • Participates in maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ensures that day-to-day actions and decisions taken are consistent with all quality standards.
  • Participates in the training and coaching of vineyard associates.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

What You Need

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Required to work any shift and work overtime when required.
  • Required to lift up to 80 lbs.  
  • Skilled in reading, writing and speaking the English language.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background check. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
