As a Winery Tech 1A, you will be responsible for supporting all phases of the winemaking process. You will be involved in the maintenance and sanitation of all equipment and facilities. You will have a direct impact on quality and cases produced for our customers.

What You Will Do:

Cellar Work:

·         Receive instructions and performs various aspects of cellar work, including but not limited to racking, pumping, clarifying, and blending of juice and wine

·         Support the operation and maintenance of cellar and harvest equipment

·         Receives instructions and performs various aspects of cellar work. Including but not limited to racking, pumping, topping, ingredient addition,and blending

·         Supports the operation and maintenance of cellar and harvest equipment.

·         Cleans and sanitizes all cellar equipment; maintains working knowledge of all wine pumps and harvest equipment.

Labor and Safety:

•          Provides general labor support to various winery areas during the busy harvest season.

•          Performs barrel work, including stacking, washing, and maintenance; tank sanitation and preparation; forklift operation; cleaning and maintenance of cellar

•          Complies with the wineries food safety/quality policy, environmental policy; sustainability policy and safety programs.

•          Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

•          Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

What You Need:

•          High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution OR GED and winery experience.

•          Required to be at least 18 years of age.

•          Required to work a rotating shift/schedule throughout the year (day, swing, 5x8, 4x10); required to work weekends and overtime when necessary.

•          Required to roll and move barrels that weigh up to 70 lbs.

•          Required to lift and move equipment and cases of product that weigh up to 50 lbs.

•          Required to conduct work at elevated heights.

•          Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

•          Skilled in writing simple correspondence.

•          Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
