San Joaquin Valley Concentrates (SJVC) is a division of E. & J. Gallo Winery, which was founded by two entrepreneurs—Ernest and Julio Gallo. For over 2 decades, SJVC has been a supplier of grape juice concentrates, natural colors and grape seed extract to the food and beverage industries. Are you naturally inquisitive and have a desire to constantly stay on top of competitor activity and market trends?  Does going after white space opportunities that bridge the gap between customer needs and product offerings excite you?  Are you known as a chief networker?  If so, keep reading!  As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving color business sales growth, including identification of need, solution presentation and closing sales with new and existing customers. 

What You Will Do

Business Development, Sales Management and Strategic Execution:

  • Identify and develop sales opportunities, with new and existing customers, designed to address individual needs that generates sales through presentations and product demonstrations
  • Develop and implement customer strategy plans including but not limited to pricing strategy, contracts and forecasted growth
  • Manage primary relationships with external customers’ departments, such as Purchasing, Research and Product Development, etc. to actively participate on long-term projects, while working cross functionally with internal departments, such as R&D, Marketing, Customer Service and Operations to reach sales goals
  • Conduct analysis of internal and external data with regard to sales, cost, markets, new business development and customers

Product Development:

  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Contribute in new product development to further identify customer needs and new color product opportunities

Networking and Leadership:

  • Maintain knowledge of the industry, products, trends, and practices
  • Preserve relationships with the customer base, brokers / agents, and trade groups / associations
  • Promote and improve customer service and communication with customers
  • Participate and represent SJVC in industry related associations and trade shows
  • Act as an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on our competition, with the ability to understand and anticipate shifts in market
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, marketing activities, etc.

What You Need

  • Master’s degree plus 3 years of technical ingredient sales or product/application development or Gallo Winery sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility –OR– a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of technical ingredient sales or product/application development or Gallo Winery sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility –OR– a high school diploma/GED from an accredited institution plus 9 years of technical ingredient sales or product/application development or Gallo Winery sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background check. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to travel by air and car
