We are looking for an enthusiastic, service-driven team member ready for the challenge to complement our team in the National Groups Sales Office. This is a great way to start your career with Drury Hotels! This entry level inside sales position is responsible for selling groups of rooms for Drury Hotels nationwide, and is a great stepping-stone to other positions within Drury Hotels.


Primary responsibility is assisting customers over the phone with group reservations and meeting details, following up on inquiries, completing required sales documentation, chain selling the entire Drury system, working with the management team to maximize revenue, and most important – providing +1 Service to our customers.


This position is located in Creve Coeur, MO and the starting pay is $15.00 per hour.  The hours are Monday-Friday 10A to 7P with a rotating Saturday schedule; typically our coordinators work 1 out of every 8 Saturdays.

Basic Function

Under general direction conduct sales activities related to selling group guest rooms and meeting facilities by following Drury Sales Procedures in order to build hotel occupancy and revenues for Drury Hotels.  Works to maintain a high standard of service and hospitality and maximize revenue for the Drury system at all times.

Job Duties

  1. Possesses understanding of Company programs including but not limited to:  5 Step Sales Process, Group Inquiry Calls, Drury Gold Key Club, Drury Inner Circle, and other company programs.
  2. Assists customer with group reservations and meeting details.  Schedules and monitors meeting functions and explains accommodations, amenities, rates and other company information.
  3. Completes required sales documentation following each sales call in a timely manner.  Including but not limited to; personal calls, telephone calls, email and follow-up calls using the automated database and trace system.
  4. Assists with sales plan by researching the competition, events coming to the city and monitoring areas of opportunity.
  5. Consistently chain sells for entire Drury system.
  6. Works with property team members to coordinate and follow through on groups booked.
  7. Works with the Regional Sales Manager, Manager of Central Groups and Value Management department to maximize revenue for Drury system.
  8. Attends sales blitzes, grand openings, property tours, and other hotel functions as assigned.
  9. Complies with office’s safety/security rules and instructions in performing work efficiently while protecting self, fellow workers and the company.
  10. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

General Knowledge, Skill and Ability

Requires general knowledge of sales techniques and basic business practices.  

Requires ability to speak English and communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. 

Requires ability to relate to the public in a warm, friendly and professional manner. 

Requires good computer skills to include typing at 40 w.p.m., composition of letters and reports, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently.  

Mental and Physical Requirements

EDUCATION: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of 4 years of high school.  College degree and/or college courses related to sales and marketing preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Requires minimum of 6 months of experience in customer service and/or sales environment.

PHYSICAL SKILLS: Requires ability to work in a seated position for a period of eight hours.  Ability to read a computer screen and operate a computer for an extended period of time.

Working Relationships

  1. Reports to the Manager of Central Groups.
  2. Cooperates with General Managers and other hotel team members.
  3. Works in conjunction/cooperation with Regional Sales Managers, National Call Center and Value Management department.
