Job Description

Basic Function

The Purchasing Assistant will assist the Purchasing Manager and Renovation Coordinator in preparing take off from scopes (Excel spread sheet), maintains scope of work daily as P.O's, Sales Orders, Stock Transports are issued, by entering them into the scopes.  The Purchasing Assistant does data entry of P.O.'s, Sales Orders, Debit Memos, Stock Transports, etc. required for the job.  They are the primary expeditor of all renovation materials, working from SAP documents, contacting vendors by voice or email, updating the P.O.'s with the information gathered and notifying the Purchasing Manager of any current problems or potential problems.  The Purchasing Assistant will also screen telephone calls, perform various secretarial duties as required and handle specal projects for and at the direction of the Purchasing Manager. 

General Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  1. Experience with Microsoft Excel is a must.
  2. Working knowledge of the SAP software and Microsoft Project is a plus.
  3. Working knowledge  of I or the  ability to  learn to  read  and  interpret blueprints

Mental and Physical Requirements

  1. Possess  good  organizational skills  as  well  as  written  and  verbal communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people.
  2. Possess the qualities of a self-starter with the ability to anticipate needs of customers and be adept at problem solving.
  3. Ability and willingness to contribute to company and departmental goals.
