Advanced Acoustic Concepts, LLC, a joint venture between Leonardo DRS and Thales USA, is a technical leader in the fields of sonar systems, sonar signal processing, acoustic training systems, and open architecture system and software integration. The venture focuses on emerging areas in the undersea warfare domain where the customer has identified mission-critical needs. The company has an opening for a part-time Quality co-op in the Fall (August-September start date) at our Lemont Furnace, PA location.

Title: Fall 2019 Quality Engineering Intern

Job Location: Lemont Furnace, PA (Uniontown Area)

Position Summary: Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities: The part-time (20 hours per week) Quality Engineering Co-Op is responsible for performing tasks as directed, which includes the following but is not limited to:

* Complete assigned tasks on time
* Complete on the job training to learn basic quality engineering principles
* Perform entry level quality engineering functions
* Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS)
* Be an effective team member through involvement in team activities, communication with team members, and contribution to team efforts
* Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Basic Qualifications:

* Must be currently enrolled in an engineering (or related field) college degree program
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is preferred
* Strong attention to detail

Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:

* Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
* Good interpersonal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

* Lifting up to 20 lbs. up to 25% of time
* Walking up to 25% of time
* Sitting up to 75% of time
* Bending, Standing, Stooping, Climbing up to 10% of time

AAC works on a 9/80 compressed work schedule, where employees work 80 hours in 2 weeks, and off every other Friday.
