Disneyland Assistive Technology Professional Internship: Fall 2017

Now is your chance to join our talented team as a Professional Intern in any of our segments that delivers unparalleled creative content to audiences around the world.

Internship Eligibility:

* Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
* Not have already completed two consecutive (spring/fall) College or Professional Internship Programs
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Must possess unrestricted work authorization
* Must possess a valid US driver's license
* Must provide full work availability
* Must provide own transportation to/from work
* Current Active Disney Cast Members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World Cast Members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland Cast Members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Location of position: This position has opportunities in Anaheim, CA

Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are June 2017 to January 2018. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

Housing: Participants on this internship must provide their own housing.

What you bring to the role:

* AV technical services experiences
* Experience working in theater, music or show production envrionment
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Good working knowledge of the Disneyland Resort
* Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot and manage multiple tasks
* Ability to handle confidential information
* Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related major
* Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Note: Please, no rounding.)
* Junior, Senior or Graduate student currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Post Graduate degree at an accredited 4 year college or university
* Backstage experience, especially throughout attractions, at the Disneyland Resort
* Desire to learn supporting services or technology for persons with disabilities

Your role:

* Partner and interact with various departments to provide an exceptional experience for Guests with disabilities using the Assistive Technology services.
* Learning the technical theory of operation of the Assistive Technology services offered at the Disneyland Resort
* Working with Design and Engineering and Engineering Services with new installations and repairs
* Auditing Assistive Technology Services for content accuracy
* Maintaining accurate guest and cast information materials
* Assisting with special projects including audits, photo documentation, and the creation of maintenance materials
* Supporting in-park tours and demonstrations
