Commercial book publisher of multiple New York Times bestsellers seeks a part-time intern to support editorial staff one day a week. The position will offer valuable experience in the book publishing industry, as well as a dynamic, first-hand look at the editorial process. Responsibilities · Prepare manuscripts for production · Assist with big-mouth mailings · Perform research as needed · Provide general administrative support · Read submissions alongside editors, as time allows Basic Qualifications ELIGIBILITY The internship program is open to undergraduate or graduate level students who are currently enrolled in school and have completed their Sophomore year at minimum. Interns MUST meet the following criteria: - Currently earning a college/university degree in related field - Excellent communication skills - Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint Length: The summer internship program runs from approximately June - August 2012. Location: New York City. Students must provide their own housing and transportation. Qualifications: Hiring decisions are based on your major field of study, past work/internship experience, and extracurricular activities.
