DIRECTV's Dotcom Product Development (directv.com) Team is actively seeking an intern to join us in our El Segundo, California office in developing the next generation suite of online digital entertainment products. The ideal candidate is not only passionate about television, movies, and technology, but also wants to learn what drives the best online entertainment consumer experience. The intern will collaborate with the front end and back end web development teams to create and shape new products by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and solutions. In addition, you will be collaborating with and learning from our strategic product analysts / product owners and scrum masters in how we operate in a state of the art agile environment. Additional responsibilities will include:

Participating in Scrum based sprint and task planning exercises. Coding in front end web based technologies in a test-driven development environment. Supporting automated unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing Supporting prototyping efforts for UX/UI requirements definition and A/B testing Ensure best practices & procedures to improve product quality and process efficiency Working within a fast-moving Agile/Scrum environment using lean methodology and artifacts Working within a matrix organization

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering program. An interest or minor in Design is a plus.

To qualify, students must be returning to school following the internship program for at least one additional term and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The applicant must also be able to commit 15-20 hours per week during the school year and increase to full-time during the summer.

Additional Qualifications
Excellent written and spoken communication skills Strong interpersonal skills, to collaborate, facilitate, and negotiate with team members Understanding of web based application development technologies - experience with Java, JavaScript, Node.js, HTML5, CSS3 is preferred Ability to problem solve and find outside-the-box to find solutions Having a passion for design or web design is a plus - experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar design tools is preferred Innovative self-starter with ability to influence and present ideas across IT departments Seasoned and passionate in Agile/Scrum and proficient in all stages of SDLC Proficient in MS Office and other productivity tools
