Job Description

As a QA Engineer at DIRECTV, you are at the forefront of ensuring that our customers receive the experience and quality they deserve. You will have a direct impact on ensuring that services and applications are rigorously tested to, not only meet the functionality it was designed to deliver, but also to identify flaws that may result in an experience that will be unacceptable to our customers. Our QA teams test a full lineup of new and existing features across multiple platforms. You will work hand and hand with both development and business analysts to ensure a seamless user experience will be delivered.

- Develop test scenarios and generate detailed test procedures to validate requirements and functionality of new software products.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate any defects discovered during testing.
- Prepare comprehensive test reports for release management.
- Work with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Research and recommend effective testing approaches.
- Collaborate with developers, business analyst, and other engineers to ensure a seamless user experience is delivered across multiple platforms.

- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems is highly desired.
- Working knowledge of:
- At least one object-oriented programming language (Java, Python, C++, etc.)
- Linux, WiFi, Networking.
- Software development life-cycle: analysis, design, development, and test. - Experience with any QA automation and/or Web debugging tools (Selenium, DeviceAnywere, TestComplete, Wireshark, Firebug, Charles, etc) is a huge plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, and capable of driving results under tight deadlines and ambiguity
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
