Overview

Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital has been serving the Sacramento community for more than 100 years. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy General has been at its current site in the heart of East Sacramento since 1925. Mercy General Hospital has 342 licensed beds, a physician staff of more than 800 and is the highest volume cardiac procedure hospital in California. Mercy General is one of six Sacramento area hospitals that are part of Dignity Health, a system of 39 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona and Nevada.

Responsibilities

Position Summary: The incumbent provides timely, accurate, and complete pharmaceutical care which includes reviewing medication orders, performing appropriate clinical interventions with prescribers, and providing drug information. Demonstrates competency in patient care for patient population served. The incumbent will also effectively maintain control of daily pharmacy operations and supervise personnel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* This position requires candidates to have the following knowledge and abilities:
* Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to enforce formulary decisions of the medical staff; maintain accurate and complete records; provide instruction and preceptorship on the subject of pharmaco-therapeutics, its use and application; effectively communicate, both written and verbal.
* Ability: Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaco-therapeutics; therapeutic drug monitoring and therapeutic interventions; pharmaceutical supplies, drugs, chemicals and biologicals; federal and state regulations relating to pharmaceutical transactions; pharmacokinetics, supply management and inventory control.
* Candidates must have a current California pharmacist license.
