Responsibilities

Position Summary:

In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers health care philosophy, the Surgical Physician's Assistant is credentialed with advanced training provides patient care in collaboration with physician members of health care team

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Minimum of 1-3 years experience as a Physician Assistant.
* Graduate of and accredited school physician assistant program
* Successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant Program
* Must have broad knowledge of the medical environment and surgical procedures.
* Knowledge of surgical procedures, drug therapy, theory, practice, and the latest medical care to evaluate patients and provide treatment.
* Ability to react calmly and effectively under pressure and emergency situations.
* Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and standards to practice.
* Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Energetic and enthusiastic.
* Willing to learn.
* Maintains professional demeanor in all interactions.
* Work locations, hours and patient populations may vary based on service needs.
* Competence with computer programs, EMR and other office programs.
* Able to function as a mentor to other team members, creating a positive learning environment for others.
* Must be able to accept instruction and guidance as assume graded responsibility within a complex teamwork framework.
* Must be able to administer such care and treatment and exercise independent originality in problem solving not covered by existing guidelines, within legal limits, to meet the needs of the patient.
* Must maintain a professional attitude toward patients and family members at all times and develop sound working relationships with other staff involved in patient care to maintain and enhance skill and clinical competence.
* Must attend internal and external educational meetings and read appropriate professional journals and literature
