Assistant Professor of Science

Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Science

Location: Mayville State University, Mayville, ND

Compensation: Dependent on experience

Position Details: The Division of Science and Mathematics at Mayville State University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor Science beginning August 16, 2020. The teaching assignment may include physical science, natural science, astronomy, geology, bioinformatics or other courses in science and mathematics dependent upon candidate qualifications and interests as well as departmental needs. The position requires teaching face-to-face on campus and online.

Required Competencies:

* Ability to effectively, professionally and tactfully interact and communicate with students, faculty, and staff
* Significant attention to detail
* Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated high level of teamwork/cooperation/collaboration, initiative, customer service and organizational skills.
* Ability to work flexible hours. Some early morning, evenings and weekend hours are required.

Minimum qualifications:

* Master's degree in a Science field
* Working knowledge of research-based instructional strategies

Preferred qualifications:

* Ph.D. preferred
* Teaching experience in a higher education setting beyond teaching assistantship
* Experience in a higher education setting, with emphasis on academic and student support services.
* Teaching experience in an online environment
* ABD can be accepted and upon completion of the terminal degree evaluation will determine if tenure-track offered.
