JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Diamond Chain Company, the world's leading manufacturer of high performance roller chain products is seeking a self-driven Product Engineer.

 

POSITION PURPOSE

 

The Product Engineer is responsible for completing projects and assignments relating to the design, engineering, costing, tooling, and development of roller chain products.  The successful candidate must be highly professional with a strong mechanical aptitude

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create designs, prepare specifications, design tooling and gages, and develop manufacturing cost estimates for new and made-to-order Diamond Chain products.
  • Create and maintain product specifications and records, including product drawings, bill of material records, part master records, bills of operations, material specifications, change notices, design standards, design notes, and product-related process specifications.
  • Coordinate and expedite the handling of Quote and Order Route Sheets through Engineering and assure quick response to customer inquiries and orders.

  • Provide close technical support to Operations in the fabrication and assembly of made-to-order and attachment chain.
  • Work with customers, vendors and company personnel in Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Engineering and other functions to identify and develop potential new products, product enhancements, product improvements, new applications and new market opportunities.
  • Manage, coordinate and champion product-related projects from inception through to completion.

  • Provide engineering assistance, technical support and project management services to other company functions
  • All other duties assigned by direct supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in product design with manufacturing support experience preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills with technical experience. 
  • Proficient use of MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook, in addition to 3D Modeling software (AutoCAD Inventor preferred, SolidWorks)
  • Proven ability to establish and meet/exceed performance metrics.
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflicting priorities to achieve optimal results.
  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision, and to solve problems and work independently.
