The Software Security and Privacy Engineering Intern will be responsible for research and development of designs and approaches to better protect patient privacy and/or improve cybersecurity. The candidate is asked to present and document findings with the team as needed.

Functional Description: Support Individual Contributor

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Research, design, develop, and execute data analysis
* Review algorithmic and system requirements to assess privacy and security risk
* Research, design, and develop approaches to enable new glycemic control algorithms that make use of PII or PHI while addressing privacy and security concerns.
* Provide periodic verbal and written updates about progress to the team
* Present and document findings to security and data science teams

Required Qualifications:

* Experience or familiarity in data analysis
* Experience in privacy-related / cybersecurity research and development
* Experience in medical device industry or diabetes industry is a plus.

Experience and Education Requirements:

* Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience and a High school diploma/certificate or equivalent.
* Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), M.S., or PhD in progress from an accredited college or university, and a junior standing or above Perferred

* None

Functional/Business Knowledge:

* Basic understanding of general job aspects and limited understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
* Acquires job skills and learns the policies and procedures required to complete routine tasks.


* Work at this level requires following standardized, routine methods, under immediate supervision.
* Assignments are routine in nature and expectation is to follow pre-established guidelines and procedures.
* Contacts are mostly within own team and immediate supervisor.


* Little responsibility for decisions as to method or selection of work.
* Receives detailed instructions on routine work and new assignments.
* Works under close supervision.
