Job Description

Position Description:

Assist the investment team in managing over $12 billion in assets including assets in defined benefit, defined contribution, health insurance, life insurance and annuity portfolios. Reports to the Chief Investment Officer. Jointly responsible for delegated areas of authority including trading execution.

Education Requirements:

Undergraduate degree required'quantitative emphasis preferred (e.g. Engineering, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Math or Statistics). Prefer progress towards Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or commitment to begin CFA program. Progress on actuarial exams rather than CFA exams also considered.

Experience Requirements:

Requires 2-4 years' experience or equivalent in Investment, Financial or Economic analysis. Advanced Access, Excel, and VBA capabilities preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Analyze, report on and trade commercial paper, corporate bonds, asset backed securities and residential mortgage-backed securities.

2. Work with portfolio managers to analyze, meet with and recommend hiring/retention/firing of private equity, real estate, domestic & international equity and fixed income managers and present recommendations to respective subcommittees.

3. Work with Director of Risk on portfolio risk analytics and reporting.

4. Monitor portfolio performance and assist in periodic portfolio return calculations.

5. Use standard industry analytical tools, research, and methodologies to create cash flow and valuation models of current portfolio holdings and managers.

6. Actively seek to improve and enhance investment/manager selection and monitoring processes.

7. Provide accurate and timely deal/sector/macro research to support the decision-making process of the investment team.

8. Perform other assignments as requested and proactively identify value adding projects and initiatives.

9. Show intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for investment markets.

10. Effectively communicate, deal well with uncertainty, exhibit the desire to function as a team member, demonstrate attention to detail and be accurate across all areas of responsibility.
