General Summary

The Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic seeks a part-time coordinator to undertake a variety of tasks all with the goal of supporting the Clinic's efforts to ensure resources and enhance legal services capacity to respond to current and emerging immigration issues. The part-time coordinator position will support the Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic's collaborative role in engaging Chicago area immigrant-serving non-profits in providing reliable immigration information and services.

Please note, this position is GRANT FUNDED. If the grant terminates for any reason, if grant funding is lost or reduced for any reason, or if the budgetary needs for fulfilling the grant requirements change, your employment with the university will be immediately discontinued.

Responsibilities & Duties

* Duties include legal research and writing, collaboration with advocates in the field and coordination of activities including convening of immigrant-serving groups.


* Schedule and organize meeting with external parties.


* Plan and organize program activities in coordination with faculty and staff attorneys.


* Conducting legal research.


* Develop resource materials.


* Maintain records.


* Performs other duties as assigned.



Education & Experience

* BA + 3 years experience in relevant field.



Other Skills & Abilities Reqd

* Excellent organizational skills, Outstanding communication skills, Detail-oriented and efficient.


* Local travel required.
