Job Description

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a candidate interested in a paid-intern position to work with the Preventative Maintenance Manager within the Bureau of Construction, Maintenance, Activation and Sustainability (CAMS) in support of a preventative maintenance program designed to extend the life of assets and reduce agency spending costs.

THIS IS A TEMPORARY PART-TIME UNCLASSIFIED POSITION WITH A MAXIMUM OF 13 HOURS PER WEEK.

Guided by the agency's mission "To reduce recidivism among those we touch", the successful candidate embraces the core values of the Department and will serve as as an intern with CAMS.

Job Duties:

* Work with the PM Administrator on adding updates to the preventative maintenance reference manual
* Work with the PM Administrator on updating and maintaining preventative maintenance, FAMIS system
* Assist the PM Administrator with creating and managing a Profile Tracking System designed to support budget forecasting and operational efficiency. Help determine whether there are cost- and time-savings advantages in using the FAMIS warehouse management application
* For compliance and auditing purposes, assist with developing a report card to capture the level of user activity each month and individual learning curves. Determine comprehension levels through the increase and/or decrease request levels for assistance (via emails, phone log, follow-up training, and face-to-face communication)
* Use the Profile Tracking System to capture and correlate general and warranty work orders and related costs to maintenance omissions possibly due to PM oversights. Compartmentalize PM-related expenses and oversights by region/prison, age of prison, "live" or expired warranties, etc.
* Work with the PM Administrator to extrapolate details from ARTEMES to determine the types of General and warranty work-order requests, where the request originated, whether the request is maintenance related, level of priority--low, med, high, and the level of WO frequency by region/prison/person/division.

Not required but would prefer:

* Construction, Engineering, Business, or Information Technology major, TechNet, or SQL Queries
* Construction/Maintenance experience
* Ability to collect, analyze and present research data
* Independent Worker requiring little guidance

MUST BE ENROLLED IN A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY AND IN GOOD STANDING.

Must be enrolled in a college or university and in good academic standing, with a preference for 2 years completed and above. Applicable academic fields include business, communications, EEDS, Engineering, Public Policy/Administration, or Social Services. (Will be required to produce college transcripts and current fee statement or class schedule.)
