Job Description

Job Summary

Under close supervision of a pharmacist preceptor, learns the basic skills required to be a pharmacist, using the State Board of Pharmacy Intern Manual and Pharmacy Internship Activities Checklist as a guide. Performs pharmacy-related functions to provide optimal pharmaceutical care.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Actively enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy.'

Experience: None.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to work as a team member. Attention to detail. Knowledge of basic pharmacy practices and procedures. Knowledge of medications and medical supplies. Knowledge of record-keeping techniques. Mathematical computation skills. Organization and communication skills. Good typing, keyboarding and proofreading skills. Ability to maintain adequate inventory/supplies.

Certificate/License/Registration: Pharmacy intern license when issued by the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy. Intern license normally issued at the start of the Pharm D program, which is generally in the fall.
