Delphi's Safety Electronics group pioneered the sensors, software, and systems that empower Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Warning, Emergency Brake Assist, and Lane Keeping systems widely available to consumers today; and we continue to stretch the technology envelope with 360-degree sensing and advanced algorithms piloting automated vehicles.

The Delphi Pittsburgh Technology Center (PTC) is currently seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, maintain, test, roll out to users, and continuously improve a tool to make HD (High-Definition) maps for automated driving.

Responsibilities include:

* Build a tool to make HD (High-Definition) maps for automated driving
* Work with users and algorithm/application/software/test engineers to come up with high-level requirements and translate them into technical documentations to be implemented
* Design, implement, maintain, test, roll out to the users, and continuously improve the tool
* Write efficient and easy-to-read software
* Use tools such as Bitbucket and Jira to follow the Ottomatika software development process

Position Requirements

Basic qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or relevant engineering majors.
* 2 or more years of post-undergraduate or graduate experience with C++ software development in mapping, 3D maps, or geometry
* 2 years of Development experience in Unix/Linux Environments

Preferred qualifications:

* Knowledge of software engineering process: software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, etc.
* Experience in Agile/SCRUM software development
* Ability to learn new computer languages
* Knowledge or background in working with 3rd party software libraries
* Strong communication and inter-personal skills in verbal and written English
* Flexible and creative thinker
