Job Description:
Design/develop/test software for automotive based infotainment and displays products Assist in the selection of appropriate upstream open-source components and packages Actively participate in a dynamic team developing advanced connectivity technologies for use in automotive environments Identify requirements and develop embedded software for next generation connected vehicle products and technology demonstrations including smart phone applications, application stores and cloud-based service delivery. Ensure superior program execution Identify and track key technology developments in the Silicon Valley area and understand their impact on automotive infotainment systems. Execute joint projects with key local technology partners for both demonstrations and production-intent systems Maintain open communication and coordination with management and other Delphi engineering offices

Position Requirements
3 to 5 years of experience developing software using languages such as C/C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP, OpenGL, UML, Graphics Pipeline, HTML5, Matlab/Simulink, etc. (willing to consider new college grads)
Interest in next generation automotive infotainment and safety/controls systems
Experience with the following technologies: Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Cloud Services, Voice Recognition, Navigation, Displays, WiFi, Bluetooth, Networking
Experience in embedded software design
Experience with digital communication protocols: I2C, I2S, SPI, UART, USB
Experience with vehicle communication buses: CAN, LIN, Ethernet, MOST
Experience with operating systems: Windows, Linux, Android, QNX operating systems
Working knowledge of Internet standards such as: SSL, HTTP, JSON, etc.
Working knowledge of requirements capture and Agile software design methodologies
Experience working with complex systems with interactions between multiple components.
Experience developing Android and iOS applications preferred
Experience developing Linux middleware and/or applications (required)
Experience developing Smart Phone apps (preferred)
Speech recognition and HMI development experience (preferred)
Previous development experience of either embedded automotive or consumer electronics products (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with internal and external engineering and design teams and influence design direction
Self-starter with ability to work with limited oversight
Experience working in a design team environment
Excellent communication skills
Helpful Additional Skills
Broad background and experience in automotive infotainment and communications systems and software
Track record of developing leading-edge technology, concepts and products
Ability to thrive with ambiguous requirements in chaotic environments
Ability to think creatively and be innovative within business and technology constraints
A personal interest in technology, especially in smart phones and internet applications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor degree in computer science or electrical engineering (Masters preferred)
