Job Posting Title:SPED Teacher - Psychologist (For all open positions for the 2019-2020 School Year) Job Description:School Psychologists in the Douglas County School District serve students across all levels (PK-12) who require universal, targeted, and intensive intervention across special education and general education populations. Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge, skills, and commitment needed to provide direct and indirect services that help students and youth succeed: academically, socially, behaviorally and emotionally. Candidate will have understanding and empathy necessary for working with students and their families. Position Specific Information (if Applicable): The Douglas County School District anticipates job openings for School Psychologists across all levels for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. Applicants who respond to this posting will be screened by our Mental Health team and successful applicants will be added to the applicant pool and interviewed by individual school sites. Responsibilities: --- Effective case management skills. Maintain accurate and up to date records of every treatment/session delivered to students whether direct or indirect services. Information will be documented into either the current IEP system and/or current Medicaid system. Document all student services who are eligible for Medicaid reimbursement if current DORA license is held. Complete records of students' progress and development preparing required reports on students and activities. --- Effectively implement crisis prevention, intervention, response and recovery efforts. --- Demonstrate expertise in assessment, data based decision-making skills and psycho-educational practices, in order to plan, consult, collaborate and/or provide direct services to students. --- Support and establish a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students in order to: alleviate barriers to learning, engage students as individuals with unique interests and strengths, and promote student success at the student's developmental level. --- Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with school personnel, students and parents. Certifications:Special Services Provider License - School Psychologist - Colorado Department of Education Education:Master's Degree: Educational Psychology (Required) Position Type:Regular Primary Location:VARIABLE LOCATION EMPLOYEE - SPED One Year Only (Yes or No):No Scheduled Hours Per Week:40 FTE:1 Approx Scheduled Days Per Year: (260 days indicates a year-round position. Time off [or Off-Track Days] are then granted based on the position.
