Under minimal supervision, supports the Director, Dining Services Financial Operations. Performs routine and non-routine accounts payable, accounting, inventory and administrative tasks for several dining units. This is a one-year term position.

Required Qualifications

Minimum experience: Three- four years of business management/accounting experience; or the equivalent.

Minimum education: Associate's Degree with Business and Accounting course; or the equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

* Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and with initiative.
* Ability to pay close attention to detail.
* Knowledge of Excel and Word.
* In-depth knowledge of general accounting procedures
* Must be willing to undertake other responsibilities as requested.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

Accounts Payable

* Processes invoices from Dartmouth and Tuck Dining locations, including verifying validity and accuracy.
* Coordinates Dartmouth Dining's vendor accounts, including reviewing statements, addressing missing invoices and credits and any other actions that ensure all accounts remain in good standing

General Accounting

* Reconciles cash deposit logs and reports/addresses any anomalies
* Responsible for ensuring all NH Rooms and Meals Tax is accurately recorded and paid to the state
* Processes internal transfers to collect and dining fees from other departments
* Reconciles financial components of concessions events and ensures that fundraising groups are paid accordingly.
* Works closely with the finance center to remedy any incorrectly assigned transactions in the Dartmouth GL.
* Maintains financial records and archives according to Dartmouth, NH and Federal regulations.


* Assists with verifying inventory records accurately reflect Dartmouth's accounting hierarchy (chart string).
* Assists with ensuring that inventory transfers between locations are accurately recorded in Dartmouth's general ledger

Office Administration

* Assists with office administration duties, as required.
* Maintains par stocks and assists with special requests for office supplies.
* Distributes office mail as necessary.
* Shares in telephone coverage for the department.
* Performs seasonal and occasional projects, requiring accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness.
