Job Description

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Complies with good manufacturing practices (GMP) as required.
  • Complies with Dart Container's policies and procedures.
  • Sets-up shifts to include matching of personnel with production needs.
  • Coordinates maintenance, cup machine runs and retail changes.
  • Ensures personnel are at workstations and scheduled machines are running.
  • Leads approximately 20-40 personnel, takes daily attendance, disciplines when needed and performs general conflict resolution. Coordinates lunch and rest breaks for personnel.
  • Coordinates with Production Manager to ensure cycle times, percent of run time versus report time, rejected product percentage & nesting percentage efficiencies are met.
  • Checks compressor and boiler room pressures.
  • Performs light repairs to production machinery and printers. Assigns equipment repairs as needed.
  • Ensures proper ink and printer set-ups by matching color samples and checks print clarity.
  • Completes production report and target information at the end of the shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Rotates shifts to cover vacations and shift shortages.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
  • Two (2) years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Good interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with production equipment
  • Familiarity with production machinery repairs, including the use of hand tools
  • Familiarity with and ability to use computers

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • One (1) year experience with production and/or print machinery repairs.
  • One (1) year experience with printing processes.
  • Two (2) years experience using a computer
