Job Description

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Comply with good manufacturing practices (GMP) as required.
  • Comply with Dart Container's policies and procedures.
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Determine method of shipment.
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
  • Insert items into containers.
  • Post weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Route items to departments.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operate tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Responsible for product quality, safety and legality.
  • Shipping Confirmation on AS400Product Inventory Counts.
  • Inventory warehouse supplies.
  • Handle all shipping receiving, scheduling call, and keep logs current.
  • Keep dock and battery station relished with supplies.
  • Collect Warehouse Paperwork and bring it back to Warehouse several times a shift.
  • Make UPC stickers for labels and orders.
  • Keep log of Employee Lockers.
  • Keep track of attendance Points Passes out and collect Employee Paperwork (vac, variances).
  • Shipment monitoring stats. Key in new locations as they occur and makes copies available.
  • Filing as needed.
  • Handle Employee purchase (product).
  • Use of lift truck required for some duties.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word Processing software
  • Experience driving a forklift

  • Bilingual ability-English/Spanish
