Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and assist with closing of the books and records for Dart Container and affiliates
Day-to-Day Role:
- Accurately prepare and post journal entries
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Assist in the timely month-end and year-end close of the general ledger and related external audits
- Support month-end financial reporting including following up on variances, data analysis, and account review
- Create accurate and concise verbal and written communications to internal departments and external business partners about accounting-related information
- Maintain secure control of accounting-related documentation; invoices, checks, journal entries, financial statements
- Participate in special projects individually or as part of a cross-functional team
- Maintain accurate job aids for all duties assigned
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or related field of study
- Two (2) years of accounting experience
- Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create spreadsheets (e.g., formulas such as V-lookup, graphs, pivot tables)
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal customers
- Proven analytical problem solver
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas and solutions
- Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
- Works well in a team environment, working towards the common goal of the department as a whole
- Additional work hours during critical times of the year including weekends and evenings
- Up to 5% domestic travel
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- SAP experience
- CPA license
