Job Description

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Comply with good manufacturing practices (GMP) as required.
  • Comply with Dart Container's policies and procedures.
  • Inspects materials (cups, lids etc) visually or by using micrometers, water tests, rigidity test gauge, stack height gauges, rim diameter gauges and gram scales. Checks materials for correct color.
  • Monitors and checks machine operator’s reports for completeness and accuracy. Checks raw material mixer’s report for correct set points on color, concentrate and regrind amounts.
  • Conducts packaging verification checks by auditing packaging reports for completeness and accuracy. Completes reports on Lid Fit report, Daily Quality Audit Report for Lid Lines and Solution Leak Test report. 
  • Monitors product count.
  • Initiates hold and rework procedures. Works with production staff to aid in the identification and correction of quality problems.  Communicates quality problems and product status to Management. 
  • Removes cases from conveyor and checks for correct weight.
  • Keeps general work area clean.
  • Trains operators on quality procedures and SPC.
  • Performs basic production internal audits and reports results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and ongoing communications about safety and quality issues.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • One (1) year experience performing quality checks, three (3) years preferred
  • Ability to visually detect defects including color
  • Ability to operate simple measuring devices
  • Understand and read SPC charts
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to make good decisions regarding disposition of products.
