Job Description

These positions will support our new warehouse in Havre de Grace, Maryland.

Various shifts available.

With appropriate license, operates forklift equipment to perform shipping and receiving functions, including sorting and stacking product and movement of finished goods throughout the warehouse. Also, performs customer returns inspection and processing, sortation and pallet/case rework.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Comply with good manufacturing practices (GMP) as required.
  • Comply with Dart Container's policies and procedures.
  • Operate various types of forklift equipment to include but not limited to electric forklifts and electric pallet jacks. Attachments include clamps, single double forks, and standard forks.
  • Full-time forklift operation handling finished goods utilizing SAP WMS RF technology.
  • Pull finished goods accurately and load trailers of finished products efficiently and safely.
  • Unload inbound trailers of finished goods, assuring the count and quality, and place it in the appropriate storage area.
  • Conduct the general maintenance of the forklift, battery changing, fill out inspection sheets, and report mechanical problems promptly. Report any damage to racks, columns, and any safety hazards immediately.
  • Operate equipment & perform duties safely at all times and within the operating parameters of the powered vehicle being driven and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain good housekeeping of equipment and general work area.
  • Stack product in a uniform and damage free condition, reporting all problems to the appropriate people in order to minimize “system” damage.
  • Handle live load LTL’s, parcel shipments, manage and maintain the Repack / Rework area.
  • Perform consolidation moves and cycle counts on inventory as directed by supervisor/group leader.
  • Participate in small group improvement teams.
  • Attend safety meetings and training as periodically scheduled.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Six (6) months forklift experience required.
  • Prior warehouse experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP WMS RF technology preferred.
