Job Description

This position will support and be located at our Havre de Grace Distribution Center.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Maintain buildings and grounds by performing routine painting, plumbing, minor concrete work, minor roofing repairs, dock equipment repairs, light electrical work, and other related preventative maintenance and upkeep activities.
  • Maintain fire extinguishers and fire suppression system PM and required testing activities.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns and perform repairs on equipment in a fast paced distribution environment.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance program for forklifts / batteries and other industrial vehicles, perform contractor scheduling and oversight, and perform minor equipment repairs where required.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas or to install new or repaired parts. Remove dust, dirt, grease and waste material from machines. Replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment when necessary. Repair defectives parts in machinery, lubricates and cleans parts including bearings, shafts, gears and other equipment components.
  • Operate and maintain plow equipment.
  • Communicate with vendors and contractors to identify maintenance parts, and schedule and oversee contractors for large scope maintenance activities.
  • Maintain buildings, property and landscaping with integrity.
  • Order needed parts, janitorial, and other supplies by using SAP P2P.
  • Proper use of a Company credit card and reporting expenses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
  • Three (3) years mechanical maintenance experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a driver’s license
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments, use appropriate hand tools, power tools, hoists, crane
  • Ability to read and comprehend pneumatic and hydraulic blueprints
  • Good communication, reading, math and computer skills

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • SAP knowledge
  • Proven leadership experience
