Job Description

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Uses analytical troubleshooting skills to make repairs and corrections based on observation of equipment in operation and product defects
  • Dismantles defective machinery and equipment to gain access to problem area or to install new or repaired parts
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems. Repairs or replaces defective parts
  • Realigns and adjusts machine components
  • Tests machines following repairs to ensure good product quality prior to returning machine to service
  • Inspects used parts to determine if they meet acceptable standards for use in equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of facility
  • Assists in training lower level mechanics
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions
  • Assists in fabricating parts
  • Orders parts as required and uses computerized maintenance system to keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Assists in rebuilding and overhaul of machinery
  • Follows all safety, GMP's and BRC guidelines and company plant rules
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Three (3) years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems
  • Ability to provide a set of basic mechanic's hand tools to perform job functions
  • Ability to diagnose and analyze mechanical problems
  • Ability to enter information/data on maintenance software and or order parts
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
  • Ability to work 3rd shift hours (11:00 P.M.- 7:00 A.M.)
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
  • Ability to work weekends when required
