Job Description

Responsible for assisting the company and hiring supervisors by administering the recruitment process to ensure fairness and compliance with Dart’s recruiting practices. 

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Communicate with hiring supervisor in support of the full-cycle recruitment and selection process on assigned positions
  • Schedule and facilitate Recruiting Strategy Agreement (RSA) meetings and document the strategies set forth during those meetings
  • Create requisitions according to job descriptions
  • Screen profiles/resumes and make recommendations based on position requirements
  • Conduct phone interviews and make hiring recommendations to the Hiring Manager
  • Extend offers to candidates and process appropriate paperwork to hire and on-board new employees
  • Review references, background checks, and drug test results to ensure Company standards are met
  • Actively search for new and improved ways to source candidates for open positions
  • Identify obstacles in the recruiting and selection process and implement new strategies to improve the process
  • Attend formal training when necessary for OFCCP, EEO, and other related training
  • Responsible for fair and equal treatment of all candidates and employees with regard to interviews, selection, hires, transfers, promotions, demotions, layoffs, terminations and training regardless of prohibited characteristics
  • Represent Dart Container at job fairs both locally and outside of the Lansing area

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Two years of experience recruiting exempt employees and conducting interviews (phone and/or face to face), OR {for internal candidates} Six months of experience recruiting exempt employees at Dart and 18 months of experience conducting interviews (phone and/or face to face)
  • One year of project research experience using the Internet
  • Experience using social media
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers
  • Excellent decision making capabilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven analytical problem solver
  • Proven ability to adjust work schedule as appropriate to accommodate time-sensitive requests
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Ability to collaborate with team members
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Two years of experience using an Applicant Tracking System for candidate management, preferred
  • Degree in Human Resources, preferred
  • PHR/SPHR certification, preferred
