Job Description

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.
  • Comply with Dart Container's policies and procedures.
  • Determine and track labor needs daily.
  • Ensure adequate amounts of material are in the department to maintain production.
  • Provide shift with scheduled break plan and relieve packers for breaks.
  • Assist mechanics and operators as needed to assure completion of production requirements.
  • Train and track progress of all new employees.
  • Conduct quality checks, correct deficiencies, and initiate quality audits when necessary.
  • Identify and report basic equipment and machine problems.
  • Maintain safety and good housekeeping practices daily. Identify, report, and correct safety and housekeeping issues.
  • Use a computer to report daily production and labor efficiencies.
  • Track and report attendance, daily housekeeping, and packer efficiency.
  • Participate in small group improvement teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Must have a well-rounded knowledge of printing processes, equipment, and strong mechanical aptitude skills.
  • Microsoft office skills preferred.
