Job Description

The Project Engineer collaborates with local and corporate project teams and assists with technical expertise in the blown film production process.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Comply with good manufacturing practices (GMP) as required
  • Comply with Dart Container's policies and procedures
  • Assess productivity and efficiency of department machinery and labor and develop action plans for continuous improvement
  • Lead projects to retrofit existing equipment to achieve production requirements
  • Lead efforts to determine specifications and implement new equipment
  • Monitor daily production data and develop action plans to address poor performance
  • Lead or coordinator training efforts in conjunction with department supervision and production staff
  • Collaborate with corporate engineering and OEM’s to address poor equipment performance or process inefficiencies
  • Report progress and provide data analysis to local and upper-level management
  • Interact with equipment operators to develop a team approach to continuous improvement

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
  • A Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of engineering related experience; OR an Associate’s degree and six (6) years of engineering related experience; OR twelve (12) years of engineering related experience; OR one (1) year of experience as an Associate Engineer
  • Five (5) or more years of plastic extrusion experience, preferably in film extrusion preferred
  • Five (5) or more years of experience with film printing or related process preferred
  • Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing preferred
