Job Description

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Provide direction to and participate in production project work.
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanics and machine operation, tooling design and specifications, finishing processes (paint, plate, polish & deburr), welding processes, heat treat and metallurgical knowledge.
  • Assist and/or direct productivity improvement efforts and make recommendations in accordance with Dart and Machinery Manufacturing goals.
  • Design fixtures, tooling and mechanisms utilizing CAD design capabilities.
  • Analyze routings and processes and make recommendations for improvements and changes.
  • Execute time studies and assembly examinations.
  • Utilize a computer in conjunction with material routings, standards, history and spreadsheet applications.
  • Document process details and developing routings for both special and routine parts to be manufactured.
  • Participate in research and development of manufacturing processes, tools, equipment, materials and test tool life. Will make recommendations and implement changes in tooling, materials and processes needed to improve the production and manufactured part stability and longevity.
  • Assist the Production Control department in the use of labor and materials standards.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with coworkers to achieve the best results possible.
  • Promote good employee relations and high morale.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering OR another related field or a substitute of five (5) recent years of experience in performing professional level Manufacturing Engineering functions.
  • Understanding of Descriptive Geometry is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in reading and understanding blueprints is required. 5 years preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience of Materials and Logistics Management principles and techniques, including routing and costing concepts is required. 5 years preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience with general manufacturing equipment and Mechanical Assembly is required. 5 years preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience with CNC Machinery required. 5 years preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • One (1) year of basic understanding of Computer Aided Design(CAD) Programming preferred.
  • One (1) year experience with Measurement Tools preferred.
  • One (1) year of basic understanding of GD&T preferred.
