Job Description

Darice, an international wholesaler/retailer of arts and craft products, and a leader in its industry, is looking for a Planner to complete our Procurement and Planning Team.

Team member is responsible for the coordination of all activities related to inventory for the products and/or customers assigned to them. This includes analysis, reporting, communication and execution. Critical thinking, program ownership and problem solving experience are required.

Primary Duties:

  • Evaluate inventory levels and develop a buy plan (forecast) based on various inputs (internal and external).
  • Evaluate inventory levels and advise customers (internal and external) of availability including future due date information.
  • Issue and coordinate appropriate purchase requisitions based on the buy plan.
  • Identify inventory gaps and take appropriate action.
  • Review and react to daily exception reporting.
  • Develop and build custom reporting including analysis for internal and external customers.
  • Schedule and meet with other areas of the company (Buyers, Sales, DC Group, etc.) to compile and apply their various perspectives on products, customers, trends, etc. to adjust the buy plan (forecast).
  • Schedule and meet directly with customers to ensure we are exceeding their expectations on new POG sets, fill rates, in stocks, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage programs/initiatives for successful implementation.
  • Manage to all inventory measurables, including dollars, fill rate, in stocks, turns, etc.

Requirements: 3 - 5 years of experience in inventory management, focusing on forecasting, purchasing and customer/vendor interaction is required. Strong analytical skills as well as exceptional Microsoft Office Excel skills are required.
