Danfoss in Ames, Iowa has a great internship opportunity for a Tax Intern. The candidate must be a strong communicator and business professional, with an interest in Corporate Income Tax. Significant exposure to corporate tax (US and International) is anticipated in this position.

Background and Skills

* Major: Accounting (with interest in Corporate Income Tax)
* Level of Education: Sophomore or higher
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Programs, Excel in particular
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; will communicate with Tax and Finance colleagues in the US and internationally
* Ability to work part-time [16 to 20 hours/week] during fall and spring term; full time [40 hours/week] during the summer (Mid-May to Mid-August)

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Responsible for assisting in preparation of federal and state corporate income tax returns, and for assisting in preparation of sales and use tax returns
* Responsible for assisting in calculation and remittance of tax payments
* Responsible for preparation of work papers supporting tax returns
* Responsible for supporting Group Tax US projects as requested by Tax Analysts, Tax Manager and Tax Director
* Responsible for completing other projects and tasks as requested
