About Dance Academy USA

Dance Academy USA was established in 1990 by James R. and Jane R. Carter as a one-room studio on the corner of Stelling and Homestead, in the city of Cupertino.  Since that time, the studio has grown to the largest dance school under one-roof in the state of California with seven state of the art dance studio rooms that serve over 2000 dancers yearly.

Dance Academy USA is considered one of the top studios in the country.  We do not believe we are the best because we are the biggest, we are biggest because of our loving culture of family, friends, and inclusion.  As a community within a community, we are most proud of how well our students, parents and staff treat one another; that is with kindness, love, and encouragement.  That loving culture has been intentional from day one and remains to this day.

Over time, we have proudly served over 70,000 families in the communities of Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Mountain View, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Campbell, Santa Clara and West San Jose.  Dance Academy USA offers dance classes, for primarily children, in Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Ballroom, Musical Theatre, Creative Dance and Intro to Dance.

We are in the business of providing dance lessons to kids, but for us, it’s simpler than that.  Our goal has been, is, and always will be - to make Dance Academy USA a great place to be; great for our families, great for our kids, and great for our staff.  This is what we think about and work on, every day.

Our dance expertise, as a staff of over 55 amazing people, has been recognized by Dance Teacher Magazine as one of the best in the nation.  In 2014, the Dance Teacher Magazine Board awarded Dance Academy USA and Ms. Jane Carter the most high ranking coveted dance award in America in the Private Studio/Conservatory category.  This is called the Capezio Ace Award and was presented to Ms. Jane in New York City in front a packed ballroom.  There is no higher honor in the dance education industry.

We are constantly upgrading our facilities, and provide on-going staff mentoring to ensure we provide the best possible experience; we have over 220 dance classes weekly at a variety of times so you can book classes for multiple children at the same time; we have over 40 of the top teachers in California to choose from; and we are conveniently located across the street from De Anza College on the corner of Highway 85 and Stevens Creek Blvd.

As a staff, we like to believe that we are playing a small role in helping young children become strong, resilient, and independent adults.  Through dance.
