Interior Design Intern, Portfolio Services Center

Job Description

This internship is a full-time opportunity tailored to introduce current students to commercial real estate. Our 9-week summer internship program offers experience in all aspects of our Portfolio Services Center, giving students a broad perspective on the industry. Interns will have hands-on experience working on key projects, interfacing with high profile clients, and learning the day-to-day business functions and decision making of the organization.

Interns will be paid hourly and work full-time 40 hours per week during this 9-week program. During this period, interns will gain exposure to clients and teams throughout the PSC.


* Formulate preliminary space plans and sketches that integrate the client's needs
* Confirm preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety, and welfare requirements
* Compile selection of colors, materials, and finishes to appropriately convey the concept while meeting socio-psychological, functional, maintenance, lifecycle performance, environmental, and safety requirements
* Compile selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and millwork, including layout drawings and detailed product descriptions
* Provide provision of contract documentation to facilitate pricing, procurement, and installation of furniture
* Coordinate and collaborate with other design professionals who may be retained to provide consulting services
* Assist with contract documents, bids, and negotiations as the client's agent
* Review, reconcile, and resolve client issues
* Assist managers with department objectives
* Complete special projects


* Interior Design Degree (or relevant field of study) or in pursuit of Degree
* Cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA
* Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
* Legal authorization to work in U.S. (Visa sponsorship unavailable for this position)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
* Quick, adaptable learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment
* Detail-oriented while also being able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Extremely professional and driven to succeed
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Team-oriented approach
