Client Accounting Assistant (Asset Services)

Job Description Summary

Responsible for daily processing and maintenance of basic accounting data related to the general ledger.

Job Description


* Process accounts payable and/or receivable invoices into the accounting system
* Prioritize and maintain organization of high volume workload
* Ensure monthly invoices/statements are mailed to tenants in a timely manner
* Prepare daily deposit tickets and arrange for deposits
* Create or assist with creating internal reports as needed
* Maintain basic knowledge of general ledger accounts with the ability to identify incorrect coding
* Set up filing system and maintain in an organized fashion
* Follow up on inquiries, issues, and outstanding invoices using effective communication
* Support mail services (incoming/outgoing mail, UPS deliveries, couriers)
* Prepare records for storage annually and as needed


* High School Diploma or GED equivalent
* Prior experience with accounting or database software packages preferred or any similar combination of education and experience
* Familiarity with and adherence to standard accounting principles and controls
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
* Ability to use a 10 Key computer board
* Detail oriented and thorough
* Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
* Excellent interpersonal skills with high initiative, flexibility, and team approach to work
* Excellent oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

* Involves work of a general office nature; typically includes extended periods of sitting and/or operation of a computer
* Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to write and type
* Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you
* Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented orally and in writing
* Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and orally so others will understand
* Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, graphics, and computer displays
