Job Description


This position is for full time support for system development for multiple Air Range programs to develop and integrate capabilities in support of real-time tactical air combat training. Applies fundamental engineering principles, procedures and techniques to perform well-defined systems engineering assignments related to the development of electronic and software intensive systems and subsystems. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.


Participates in the design and analysis of electronic and software intensive systems and subsystems. Performs systems engineering tasks related to the design, modification, testing and evaluation of systems and subsystems, and development of related plans, procedures, reports and manuals. Creates design documentation such as logic flowcharts and block diagrams. Assists in the analysis of product requirements and the preparation of system and subsystem specifications. Conducts system integration and subsystem checkout, system and subsystem tests, and system validation. Interfaces with Quality Assurance to ensure application of quality standards. Participates in presentations for in-house design reviews and status meetings. May perform system modeling and simulation, trade studies and system functional analyses. Works closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure coordination and integration of system elements and interface requirements. Maintains knowledge of and follows applicable policies and procedures governing work assignments. Keeps informed of new developments in systems engineering techniques and advances in technology. Participates in teams to solve engineering problems and develop improved engineering processes.


Four-year college degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline. Experience in creating, analyzing and documenting system and subsystem designs. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to use personal computer software such as spreadsheets and word processing programs requirements database management tool. Mental ability to perform engineering problem solving and analytical tasks. Must be able to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints.
