Certified Medical Coder I or II Tribal Health Department

The successful applicant must have a valid Driver’s License, and for Coder I - Certification from an accredited Professional Coding Institution (AHIMA or AAPC); CPC at a minimum. Six (6) months outpatient coding experience. For Coder II - More than one certification from an accredited Professional Coding Institution (AHIMA or AAPC). Two (2) years of outpatient coding experience. All applicants must submit a Tribal application, a copy of academic transcript, certifications, copy of valid driver’s license, proof of enrollment from a federally recognized Tribe if other than CSKT, and if claiming veteran’s preference, a copy of the DD214 must be submitted. Failure to submit all of the above information will result in immediate disqualification during the screening process. This position is not a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period. Salary is Coder I - $18.30 - $21.04, Coder II - $20.88 - $24.00 per hour, plus benefits.
