Job Responsibilities:

* Work within an agile embedded software system development team to analyze product level requirements and system architecture to create suitable test plans (Grey Box, Black Box, etc.) for new product features on lift trucks. Act as technical lead during the development of extended functional and system testing to verify and validate that systems and software satisfy requirements.
* Responsible for creation and execution of model in loop (MIL) and hardware in loop (HIL) test cases.
* Design, develop, and perform software testing and methods as required to support assigned projects. Monitor active tests to ensure validity and quality of the work, perform analysis of results and create formal reports as required. Collaborate with other groups within Test Engineering to create and refine plant models for system simulations.
* Ensure the testability of new features is sufficient to maintain a high level of software quality.
* Verify testing results demonstrate compliance with industry standards which are relevant to the product system design.
* Analyze the software development and test process to determine areas in need of improvement by establishing applicable process metrics.
* Provide technical support to other groups within the company.
* Support general laboratory operations. Assist in the development and installation, operation and maintenance of specialized test HILS systems and integration laboratory facilities as assigned. Coordinate activities at the work group level, provide technical expertise and detail during project planning, and assist with creation of project schedules.
* When assigned, provide supervision at the task level to assigned technical staff. Provide support in area of expertise as required to lab or project staff.
* Perform other duties as assigned to include infrastructure projects, budgetary inputs, and procedural documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

* 2-4 years related experience
* Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, or Vehicle Systems Engineering, or Associate degree with 6+ years specifically related experience
* Working knowledge of C, C++, Simulink, Python, Hardware in Loop System development, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Tools (IBM Rational, Atlassian, et al) preferred but not required
* Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) preferred
* Good verbal and written communication, organizational skills, relevant math, computer, and analytical skills
* Valid driving privileges
* Ability to occasionally travel and overnight stays (0 to 5%)
