Job Description

This position is part of CM's Summer Internship Program. More than 40 interns will be joining the CM family this summer across various offices and disciplines. Our interns are PAID, engage in real project work and are 100% part of our team. Candidates must be available from mid-May to mid-August to be eligible. Best part of our program? The interns will come together as a team to work on a special project created for them by CM's Executive team together with one of CM's clients. If you are looking to gain experience from digital masters and get your career off to a great start, this may be the program for you.

We're looking for talented designers who want to learn more about a life crafting beautiful digital design. Whether you're a photo-comping wizard, advertising fanatic, or have trouble getting that VR headset off, Critical Mass can introduce you to a career in design. You'll work with our entire creative team to help shape the look and feel of creative assets we're working on. Our broad roster of clients ranges from international banks to major airlines to cosmopolitan cities on the ocean - so you'll be exposed to a variety of different design approaches. We're firm believers in cross-discipline thinking. So you'll also get the chance to see how copywriters, strategists, art directors, technologists and project managers go about their business - and what that means to you as designer.

You will:

* Work with a mentor to design solutions that meet or exceed strategic objectives
* Collaborate with a team to create interactive design concepts
* Have the opportunity to create mood boards; storyboards; interactive page layouts; site grids and interface demos; photo retouching and enhancements; animated GIFs
* Provide quality assurance on creative deliverables
* Build and maintain a team rapport with entire multidisciplinary project team

You have:

* A strong design portfolio (you must include a portfolio URL or digital samples with your application)
* Completed or working towards a degree at a recognized college or university program; recent grads also encouraged to apply
* You have a taken courses related to design, visual communications or advertising
* Strong visual, interactive and graphic design skills.
* Solid working knowledge of the latest design toolsets - Mac OS, Photoshop and Illustrator
* Ability to brainstorming and contributing to the bigger idea
* Ability to articulate creative ideas
* Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail
* An understanding of information architecture and hierarchy
* Comprehensive understanding of interactivity and the web
* Passion for design and eagerness to collaborate with other creative people
