Permanent position for a Lead Embedded Software Application Engineer

Experience with Vehicle Controls is needed. Vehicle Controls is to secure introduction of the End-2-End (E2E) Functions via the Embedded software application agile teams. Having responsibility for E2E functions in related Vehicle Controls area for the complete truck application.

The Lead Embedded Software Application Engineer are to secure the E2E functions software implementation meets the objective defined by the Brand representatives and Feature owners.

The Vehicle Controls functions include among others the following functional interfaces:

  • Vehicle to Powertrain interface
  • Vehicle to Body Builder interface
  • Interior and exterior light controls

Core Responsibilities

  • Support global function developers in understanding expected local product functionality from internal and external customers
  • Define the Priority list (Backlog) of End to End (E2E) functions in cross functional team related to the project deliverables for Vehicle Controls functions
  • Secure the correct prioritization of the function delivery in the global Vehicle Controls Embedded software application agile teams
  • Review and anchor the proposed software implementations of the Vehicle Controls functions with local Brand representatives and Feature owners to confirm implementation meets the expectations from internal and external customers
  • Develop and manage the Vehicle Controls Function Requirement Specifications, for all variants, use cases, legal requirements, complete function scope for on-going projects in all phases of development and maintenance
  • Lifecycle responsible for specification and implementation of End to end function, supporting all development activities related to the Vehicle Controls functions
  • Analyze the possibility for harmonization of Vehicle Controls functionality between brands, segments and markets.
  • Review complete offer requirements on Vehicle Controls related to vehicle functionality
  • Participates in review of detailed component development specifications (Feasibility, Technical Concepts) to provide input from Vehicle Controls functional perspective
  • Support function developers in understanding expected functionality in software and hardware application
  • Review of Verification Plan, test specifications, and Test reports related to Complete Vehicle verification level
  • Support validation on Complete Vehicle level on related Vehicle Controls functions and user cases.
  • Resolve specification issues on End to End function level
  • Resolve functional issues on End to End function level during Simulation, HIL and vehicle level validation
  • Identify and manage functional variability for the Vehicle Controls End to End functions
  • When applicable, provide and maintain conceptual models

Minimum Education Required

  • BSEE/BSME Required; MS Degree Preferred

Minimum Years of Experience Required

  • More than 5 years EE experience
  • Automotive, aerospace, or commercial Vehicle engineering experience is a plus
