Job Description

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Lynnwood, WA is seeking a MBA Intern, Business Analytics for the 2019 summer season. This outstanding opportunity could lead to future long-term growth with the company.

We'd like someone knowledgeable with data visualization and analytics software such as Qlik, Tableau and/or Power BI to support special projects within the Sales Forecasting Team. Position Overview:

The Business Analytics Intern is responsible for supporting and continually improving the demand management and sales forecasting process across the businesses by assisting the sales team in positioning the company within chosen market segments. The Business Analytics Intern is also responsible to gather, synthesize, and develop business recommendations based on market research, data analysis and competitive intelligence.


* Support implementation and adoption of data visualization and analytics software across the sales planning functions and stakeholders
* Proactively identify demand variances and trends for solutions and market segments and provide recommendations
* Establish and drive sales forecasting process improvements through documentation and standardization
* Dissect and report data from industry sources (i.e. delivery forecasts, aircraft order detail, competitive information)
* Customer Analysis including gathering financial data and preparing customer reports and charts. Assemble data into functional reports in order to monitor customer trends
* Contribute recommendations for product, sales and marketing actions based on research and competitive findings
* Support submission of Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Financial, SIOP and Master Scheduling business processes
* Support the development of a the strategic revenue forecast and assist the creation of, and maintain three-five year market forecast by Solution (i.e. refine data further by aircraft type, market segment, and geographic location)
* Incorporate market and product trends into forecast models and monthly forecast updates
* Measure forecast accuracy; Determine cause of error in order to make continuous improvements.
* Support the development of the aggregate demand plan and supporting assumptions on a monthly basis for planning and financial forecasting
* Support the development of monthly forecast based on appropriate statistical methods
* Propose software tools, technology, and other communication methods to facilitate documenting and communicating demand / forecasting input and assumptions

Minimum Qualifications:


* Experience in a technical field paired with business exposure


* Familiarity with Data Analytics software (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI)


* Leader with superior quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
* Demonstrated project management and reporting skills
* Exceptional oral and written communications skills
* Demonstrated advanced analytical skills
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Access
* Ability to identify business process issues and opportunities and to implement effective improvements and control plans
* Ability to present forecasts to all levels of management with supporting analysis and assumptions


* Actively pursuing a MBA degree, or a 2019 MBA graduate
* Bachelor's degree in technical or financial discipline
* APICS or CPIM Certification is a plus

Employment Eligibility Requirement

* Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and not require Visa sponsorship to be eligible. Because we contract with the US Department of Defense we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions:

* Standard office environment
* Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
* Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
* May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
