About the Opportunity:
The General Counsel is responsible for providing legal direction
and guidance for CoventBridge Group (CBG), the largest provider of
private investigation services in the country. The position is in
Jacksonville, Florida and is an excellent opportunity for a
business-minded attorney with strong law firm training to go
in-house, and a great opportunity to have a meaningful impact in
support of our current transformational growth. The successful
candidate will drive excellent internal client service, producing
high quality work, and protect the organization. The position
reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
Educational Qualifications:
Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school and license to
practice law in the state of Florida.
Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice and guidance to CBG on all legal issues
including but not limited to contracts, state and federal
regulatory matters, employment law and litigation.
Manage company's contract review, drafting, and participate in
negotiation processes.
Prepare legal documents and forms including third-party
agreements, master services agreements, non-disclosure agreements,
and letters of intent.
Support sales team by reviewing and participating in drafting
responses to requests for proposals and by participating in sales
meetings and industry conferences as needed.
Identify employment law issues, handle EEOC complaints, counsel
HR colleagues and other members of the legal and management staff
on employee relations, employment policies, recruiting issues,
disputes, job classifications, benefits, agreements and affirmative
action.
Aid the Client Relations Team when re-negotiating existing
client contracts.
Participate collaboratively with CBG's Data Protection,
Security and Privacy steering group.
Draft white papers and blog posts and give presentations on
important legal issues relevant to company and industry
issues.
Remain up-to-date on state and federal laws, rules and
regulations regarding data privacy, including HIPAA.
Remain up-to-date on state laws, rules and regulations
regarding Agency and personnel licensing, and manage in-house
licensing team. Provide research, oversight and leadership with
licensing requirements for assigned CBG entities and ensures that
licensing is current for assigned entities.
Conduct legal research on behalf of senior management and staff
on a variety of issues for both the U.S. and overseas
businesses.
Manage litigation, subpoena process, release of information and
prepare employees for litigation testimony as needed.
Select, oversee and manage outside counsel's representation of
company in litigation or other matters as needed.
Develop Legal Department budget with assistance and
participation of executive management.
Assist in matters of Corporate governance and M&A transactions
as needed.
Acts as a role model in demonstrating the core values in
customer service delivery.
Provides timely and thorough follow up with, internal and
external customers.
Appropriately and timely escalates difficult issues up the
chain of command.
Develops new, or improves current, internal processes to
improve quality

Requirements:

A minimum of 8 years' experience working in a law firm or
in-house at a corporation in the areas of contract management,
employment law and litigation.
Demonstrated excellence in written communication and
interpersonal skills.
Experience managing inside and outside attorneys and
supervising staff; experience with cost-effective management of
outside legal resources.
Strong time management and working knowledge of MS Office
strongly preferred.
Experience in Insurance defense in Workers' Compensation and
Property Casualty strongly preferred.
Experience in Third-Party Administration preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize
workloads, multi-task and manage priorities to meet deadlines.
Occasional travel may be required throughout the United
States.

Salary Range:
The base salary range for this position is competitive and will
be eligible for a bonus opportunity.
