Job Description

This role will be located onsite in Baltimore, MD and individuals who apply must be able to interview in person in Baltimore. This role will have a starting compensation of $45,000 annually. Come join a growing and dynamic team of claims adjusters who work on the determination and settlement of Workers Compensation claims for CorVel's clients in the state of Maryland. This role will learn the Workers' Compensation claims process by assisting and supporting the claims staff in the set-up and administration of Workers' Compensation claims, case management, and other tasks depending on the specific needs of the customers. It will participate in investigations and fact gathering on new claims, and approve payments based on pre-determined authority levels. This role will also handle the adjudication of a small caseload of Lost Time and Medical Only Workers Compensation claims.


* Assist in Investigations and fact gathering including recorded interviews
* Adjust Medical Only claims and limited "close end" Lost Time claims
* Sets up new claims
* Process mail, handle files, and input notes/diary entries in the claims system
* Process payments, as needed
* Process form letters, state forms and reports
* Assist claims specialists with telephone calls including provider, claimant and customer calls
* Requires regular and consistent attendance.
* Comply with all safety rules and regulations during work hours in conjunction with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program ("IIPP").
* Additional duties as required.

* Strong organizational skills

EDUCATION: BS/ BA Degrees required
