Job Description

CorVel is seeking a junior accountant to manage multiple aspects of the accounting function to join our team. This includes preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, assist with accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial reports and analyses. The ideal candidate is someone who has the ability to work independently and comfortably with numbers, as well as having a will to learn.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare and document journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
* Prepare monthly reconciliations on several accounts, including prepaids and equity accounts
* Assist with all functions of accounts payable, including coding invoices, approving expense reports and processing checkruns
* Assist with accounts receivable, including cash application and processing write-offs
* Identify and resolve financial discrepancies
* Answer accounting questions by researching and interpreting data
* Assist with annual corporate audit process
* Assist with quarterly and annual SEC filings
* Assist in designing and implementing improvements to accounting policies and procedures
* Other related duties as assigned

Required Skills:

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
* Excellent understanding of accounting principles and practices
* Must be highly motivated self-starter who can problem solve
* Strong communication skills
* Strong attention to details and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
* Needs to be able to work under tight monthly deadlines
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
